The solution
This revolutionary intermittent VFFS packaging machine, especially if paired with the multihead weigher C2 Extra Wide specific for salads and leaf vegetables, meets all the requirements needed:
- Perfect precision in weighing with the 10-14 heads C2, designed specifically for cut salad. Equipped with vibrating channels characterized by a surface pattern and coating to reduce friction and with pre-dosing buckets. At the end there is a central cone controlled by brushless motor. The software provides for the exclusive AVC function that calibrates the oscillation time and width of vibrating channels depending on the variable characteristics of the salad. The result is an incredible weighing precision avoiding the operator continuous monitoring. The weigher, which consists of 10 or 14 standard heads (predosing and weighing buckets) in addition to 10 or 14 memory buckets, is complemented by the unique DMA (Direct Memory Access) system. The memory buckets, positioned in direct line with the weighing ones, receive the product and identify the best discharging combination by means of a combinatorial calculus algorithm. The result is top weighing accuracy at high speeds. MBP (a company that is part of PFM Group), which produces R-Series and the multihead weigher C2 DMA, guarantees ad-hoc finishing of the parts in contact with the product and buckets that can handle cut salad products, by making them flow over chutes and buckets. The Extra Wide pre-dosing buckets can handle any type of leaf vegetables, even large ones; the power of the vibrating bases has been increased to allow the channels to oscillate more.
- Easy sanitation. The structure of the multihead weigher is made entirely of AISI 304 and has a tubular frame; the IP-66 rating guarantees total protection against the infiltration of dust and liquids, yet allows fully washing the multihead weigher. Regarding the R-Series, liquid and dust infiltrations are avoided thanks to the exploitation of the Vacuum/Venturi principle that does not require the use of cooling fans, which reduces maintenance operations.
- Increased productivity. The R-Series requires less time for reel change, while no adjustments are needed to centre the reel on the shaft, no film centring-forming tube adjustments during changeover or production are needed either. The R-series performs the perfect sealing with the constant tension of the film, has an automatic timing system and a predictive maintenance system. The output is up to 80 packs per minute for 300 g bags.
- Reduction of operating space. The compactness of the R-Series, the reel holder shaft turned to 90°, the possibility to double productivity using the TWIN version dramatically reduce the operating spaces. Furthermore, the Steelo-Bag sealing does not change the height of the forming tube.
Additionally, the weighing and packaging line is connected to MBP Cloud which permits real time access to machine data from MBP’s dedicated technicians, leading to a dramatic drop in technical intervention costs, to the possibility to carry out remote training sessions and to the scheduling of interventions.
